Mornington Peninsula-Places to visit
Looking for something to do on the weekend? A summertime playground in Victoria, the Mornington Peninsula, a 90-minute drive from Melbourne, is beautiful in any season. With the ocean on one side and Port Phillip Bay on the other, it offers visitors the best of everything. Rugged coastal vistas, charming seaside villages, and family-orientated entertainment are some of the many tourist attractions. The region is best explored by car. A few weeks back we highlighted Sunny ridge Strawberry Farm as a great place to take the family. Sit back and enjoy the ride as over the next few weeks we give you some more of our best places to visit on the Mornington Peninsula.
Arthur’s Seat
Boasting the highest viewpoint on the peninsula for breath-taking views, muddling mazes and stunning ornamental gardens. Enjoy the amazing view of the golden beaches, Mornington and Bellarine peninsulas and if you’re lucky and its not too cloudy, you’ll be able to see the city of Melbourne, far across the bay.
For a bird’s eye view over Port Phillip Bay climb aboard the Arthurs Seat Eagle, a state-of-the-art gondola which soars high above the trees. Lose yourself in the Enchanted Maze Garden and wander through its 20 themed gardens, admire the topiary and then relax with a slow picnic lunch among the artworks of the Sculpture Park Walk.
